In The Absence OF Gravity

Well, better late than never. Last week I finally put one of my New Years resolutions into practice and started visiting the swimming pool once a week.
Now the purpose of this wasn’t to learn how to swim, rather to improve my relatively poor swimming technique. Also, I needed to teach myself how to tread water. (for those unfamiliar with this phrase, that’s staying in the same place without going under and subsequently drowning.)

Happily for me, the implementation of this aim to thread water is working. I feel my breathing improving and my swimming stroke becoming quite refined, or so other people tell me.

With this under way, that leaves two of my resolutions left, (as many of you know, I keep a Diary and each year I give myself three things to do, attempt or overcome) and while one is an ongoing thing about my personal outlook, the other I intend to start in June. So watch this space and hopefully the idea of the New Years resolution as, broken promises of an unachievable idealism, will be shattered.

Hopefully, in the dead silence of an empty swimming pool and in the absence of gravity, a promise to try shall prevail.

I've been at swimming pool some weeks... some months ago. Sometimes I was alone, and other times, I have swimmed with my friend Emilie. I think that's a really good idea, because we were stopping to swimm each time one of our felt a little tired. And finally, we stayed middle of our swimming time out of the swimming pool, talking about very interesting topics. But since she's in Germany, I didn't swimm again. So this strategy isn't very interesting if you would like to practice a sport.

I'm really sorry, beacause I'm sure that I don't write very well in English :o( I hope that it's possible to understand.

hi Rebecca, glad to see you've found you way to my little bar. Your english is quite understandable and would rival some native english speakers.

Perhaps, at some point in the future, i will try my hand at posting a comment in French on your blog. Could be a good way to improve the language barrier.
