As you have seen from the photos on Nicks blog living in Canada in pretty sweetie. The thing about Canada is that even though an income is not forthcoming, there is so many thing to do here that cost nothing. The outdoors offer a completely new world and the people are probably the most friendly people i've ever met in my entire life.
They're completely without predjuduce and embody the idea of integration and multiculturalism. Of course, like most countries, there are issues with their heritage, such as the devision between first nation Canadians and landed Canadians, but even this is overcome on a daily basis by the basic Canadian ideal of 'respect to all' .
The difference is remarkable!!! Homeless people are polite and courteous and this is viewed as a natural thing. Perhaps i am blinded by my previous claustrophobic city experience, but i am simply mesmerized by the Canadian way of life.
I think before i came here, I, like most Europeans, believed the Canadian mentality would be quite close to the American mentality, given the country's relatively proximity. But its simply dazzling how different the cultures are.
And here's the clincher, its nothing huge, like gun control or medical assistance, but rather its the nuances, the small daily activities and perceptions. The way Canadians try to help, or just contribute in any way possible.... simply put; its their way. And it works.
