Where's the exit

Yeah, I know...the blogs have been slow in coming, but you know what they say: No news is good news. Anyway I’m here now and so I shall rant on, in the hope that something exciting or entertaining will spring to mind in order to make your read even slightly worth while.
So what have I been up to???
Well, in the absence of employment in the media industry, I've made a financial sacrifice and taken on an internship with a national newspaper called The Hill Times. It's a political paper that focuses on parliamentary affairs. Anyway, I’m working my ass off without a paycheck in the hope that having a national paper like the Hill Times on my resume will present more employment opportunities.
Unfortunately, because I’m living in
And what am I worried about???
The obvious problem from this 'lack of employment' is money; however, money is not my biggest problem. My Visa is my biggest problem... no job means no visa- no visa and I’m shipped back home to
So, given that I've been here six months, so far, with little career success, I fear the next six months may well be just as fruitless.
So where do I stand with my "plans for
Well, my initial plans were to stay with Colette for a couple of weeks, then move into a place with just myself and Nick... so we can see what living together (alone) will be like for us. Simultaneously, I had hoped to find work and immerse myself into
(Marcel, I think I am giving you a run for your money with the shitty moods)
Finally, (when it rains it pours)... it has started snowing here and the weather is turning to the negative temperatures, which means that this Irish girl need to buy some 'proper' winter clothing- I don’t think my Irish wear will suffice for these subzero temperatures.
The result: depletion of already dwindling funds, Christmas will be quite thin this year.
Where's the silver lining???
Alas, my big expense so far has been one I paid gladly. I booked my plane tickets yesterday and it looks like ill be home for both Christmas and New Years. I say looks like cos although I have booked my tickets, if a job arises in the mean time, then obviously my plans will have to change.
But right now, I can’t wait. I'm quite well known for my New Years parties and I think this year will be the best ever. Did I mention I can’t wait? I sense ill be recovering from this one for a while to come yet.
Have I finished complaining... ermm, I think so!!!
Well there you have it... I still think I rival Marcel for 'blog most used for ranting'.
Hope you all enjoy.. And I’ll try check back soon to bum you all out some more.
Enjoy... Eat... Drink ... And be merry!!!
